Creating paintings has been my passion since I was a child. Like breathing, making art is something I must do. I can't live without making visual expressions. I please myself with images and If they happen to delight your eyes, spark your interest, give you aesthetic pleasure, and inspire you, well then, I'm doubly pleased.
Once, many years ago I moved to the Panhandle of Idaho in the Pacific Northwestern United States. It is called Big Sky Country. And the landscape is beyond words. Instantly I became a landscape painter. And for the next 30 years I wandered, walked, hiked and camped, slept, ate and painted these experiences. I have hundreds of paintings from many places in the world.
Beyond landscapes, sometimes I paint pictures of people, in native costumes. I like painting barns, and animals, too. Additionally, mural art is exciting and provides me with the opportunity to paint large images on buildings for everyone to see for free. Making art in the environment, on public display is more like being a street musician. People passing me as I work provides the viewer a rare opportunity to watch me as I work. Often, people will ask questions and both of us discuss what's going on at that moment. Things like this are beautiful because this doesn't happen when I'm painting alone in my studio.
. . . To be continued.
